1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using our tutoring services, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Service Description

StepUp Tutors provides educational tutoring services for students from Year 3 to Year 11, specializing in supporting Nigerian migrant students transitioning to the UK curriculum. Our services include:

  • One-on-one tutoring sessions
  • Small group tutoring (2-3 students)
  • Online tutoring via video conferencing
  • In-person tutoring in Canterbury, Kent and surrounding areas
  • Exam preparation and revision support
  • Curriculum transition support

3. Booking and Payment

3.1 Booking: All tutoring sessions must be booked in advance through our website, phone, or WhatsApp. We offer a free initial assessment for all new students.

3.2 Payment: Payment is due before or at the time of service delivery. We accept bank transfers, card payments, and other agreed payment methods. Prices are as quoted at the time of booking.

3.3 Package Deals: We offer discounted rates for advance payment of multiple sessions. Package deal terms will be specified at the time of purchase.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

4.1 Student Cancellations: Sessions cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice will receive a full refund or rescheduling option. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged in full.

4.2 Tutor Cancellations: If we need to cancel a session, we will provide at least 24 hours' notice and offer a full refund or alternative session time.

4.3 Emergency Cancellations: In case of genuine emergencies or illness, we will work with families to find suitable alternatives or provide refunds on a case-by-case basis.

5. Conduct and Expectations

5.1 Student Conduct: Students are expected to arrive punctually, be prepared for lessons, and treat tutors with respect. Persistent disruptive behavior may result in termination of services.

5.2 Parent/Guardian Responsibilities: Parents/guardians must provide accurate information about their child's educational needs and inform us of any relevant learning difficulties or requirements.

5.3 Tutor Standards: All our tutors are qualified, DBS-checked professionals committed to providing high-quality, culturally-sensitive education support.

6. Safeguarding and Child Protection

At StepUp Tutors, safeguarding is our top priority. All our tutors hold up-to-date Enhanced DBS checks and undergo regular safeguarding training. We ensure that all online lessons are delivered on secure platforms, with parental oversight encouraged. Our safeguarding policy is available on request and will be published on our website.

7. Online Session Terms

7.1 Technical Requirements: Students must have access to a reliable internet connection, computer/tablet, and appropriate software (Zoom, Google Meet) for online sessions.

7.2 Recording: Sessions may be recorded for quality assurance and educational purposes with prior consent. Recordings remain the property of StepUp Tutors.

8. Intellectual Property

All teaching materials, resources, and content provided by StepUp Tutors remain our intellectual property. Students may use materials for personal educational purposes only and may not redistribute or share materials without permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

While we strive to provide the highest quality tutoring services, StepUp Tutors cannot guarantee specific academic outcomes. Our liability is limited to the cost of services provided. We are not responsible for exam results, school admissions outcomes, or other academic achievements.

10. Data Protection

We collect and process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy. Student information is kept confidential and used solely for educational purposes and service provision.

11. Complaints Procedure

12. Modifications to Terms

StepUp Tutors reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website and communicated to active clients. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified terms.

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes relating to these terms and conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
